North of Boise’s bedroom community of McCall, Idaho MeadowCreek requires about a two-hour drive from the Treasure Valley. It’s worth every mile.
The championship layout carves its way through dense tracts of pine forest and features a natural terrain of rolling hills, elevated tees and greens, an assortment of bunkers and a fair amount of water.
The course has a number of beautiful but challenging holes. If you can work the ball off the tee, you’ll have a huge advantage here. The combination of doglegs, tree lines and side hills puts placement at a premium.
The putting surfaces here are demanding, but quite fair. Just remember that everything else being equal, a putt will tend to break toward the valley.
Overall, this course is the perfect reason to make a road trip into some of Idaho’s most beautiful wilderness areas. Between the huge assortment of wildlife, a beautiful lodge and a meticulously cared-for golf course, the MeadowCreek experience is a hard one to pass up.
