Ben Bryson of BanBury Golf Club in Eagle, Idaho, has been named the 2008 Assistant Professional of the Year for the Rocky Mountain Section PGA. Ben has been employed at BanBury for the past three years and has been in the golf business for the past seven years. He is working diligently to become a member of the PGA of America.
Ben has many duties at BanBury including serving as the tournament director and website manager. Ben plans, organizes and administers over 85 golf outings per year.
Among these are many charitable events that earn upwards of $100,000 for those charities. He has taken special care to provide tournament participants with a first-class atmosphere in which to compete.
BanBury was the host site for the 2008 Pacific Northwest Golf Association’s Mens Amateur and Ben directed host housing for that event.
As the manager for BanBury’s website, Ben oversaw a complete makeover to the site including changing web hosts and servers. He designed the interactive virtual tour of each of BanBury’s holes and is the responsible party for website updates.
Ben is an accomplished player and placed second in the 2008 TaylorMade-Adidas Golf RMSPGA Assistant Professional Championship.
Ben also competes in many of the Aquafina/Snake River Chapter Pro-Am events and regularly finishes in the top five. Ben’s fine play within the Chapter earned him a spot on the PGA side in the 2008 Carter Cup Matches.
Jerry Breaux, PGA Head Professional at BanBury, pays Ben a high compliment when he says, “Ben is a quick study and his abilities in all areas of golf shop operations have made me feel very confident about leaving him in charge when I am away from BanBury.”
A member of Washington State University’s Gray “W” Varsity Club, Ben is pleased to have lettered in golf while in school and maintains an active and loyal interest in his alma mater.
